The students, parents and staff of the East Lake Elementary School community have continued to be committed to excellence in student achievement and were able to clear the Corrective Action status that we had been under for 3 years. East Lake School is one of only 25 schools in the state of California that has been able to achieve this status. We are extremely proud of our successes and achievements!
East Lake Elementary School is located in the community of Clearlake Oaks in Lake County, California. Clearlake Oaks is an unincorporated, rural community comprised of retired seniors and families with school age children. We strive to motivate students to be active learners, while developing their self-respect and respect for others.
Instruction at East Lake Elementary School is standards based with full inclusion of all special education students. Staff for our special populations work in the classrooms to support the student’s individual academic needs. This research based, “push-in” model has given special education students the full breadth of their appropriate grade level instruction in a setting with their peers. Their sense of community is greatly improved with this model, creating a more positive approach to academics.
